Old School Social Marketing

Mar 8th, 2010No Comments

I love Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. As a way of coming in contact with people I may not otherwise meet, I don’t think social marketing websites can be beat.

But at times these websites can become crutches. They command a lot of our attention and can give us a false sense of having done some prospecting, or that we’ve communicated with prospects and clients.

These are all good things to do, but even in this age of mass consumption of instant communication, nothing beats a phone call, an email, or a face-to-face meeting.

These are truly social media. A bit old school perhaps, but truly engaging and personal.

Today, pick up the phone and call some clients you haven’t spoken with in a while. Follow up with some prospects you put on the back burner. Reach out and actually touch someone.
